In the days of smart phones and information at their fingertips, it has become very necessary for the teachers to find innovative teaching methodologies as the children’s span of attention is going low. Traditional rote methods have become out-dated where as teachers must keep themselves competent and up-dated to meet the needs of the time. It is realised after an educational audit of all SSM schools by Shri Manoj Kitta, a well-known international educationist, that an immediate dynamic shift in pedagogy is required to be adopted at all schools of SSM and it is at his advice that Activity Based Teaching And Learning is adopted in all schools.
As
a preparatory part of ABTL, teachers have been seen busy in making teaching
charts, web-diagrams, PPTs and models since 10th June at Shivaji
High School. These aids will obviously help students to understand the concept
and recollect various aspects involved in the topics. Teachers of their
respective subjects have made an year plan of activities in order to make their
teaching-learning process more effective.
When asked about ABTL Adoption Mrs. Shraddha Deshmukh, the Co-ordinator
of Education Council, said, “ This will help to develop minds of students as
well as provide an ample scope for teachers to study and inculcate any concept
meticulously. There is an inclusion of different activities as per the subjects
and topics in their curriculum.”
